The Main Entrance
This is where most people enter Rock Prairie. The office is here and there are coat racks nearby.
The Waiting Area
A comfortable space to wait or meditate. Right by the main entrance.
The Office
The Nerve Center of Rock Prairie.
The Stairway to the Balcony
An opportunity for a different view of the Sanctuary, if you don't mind climbing stairs. These are the only stairs at Rock Prairie.
The Front Hallway
This leads from the entrance into the heart of the church.
Original Stained Glass
These are two stained glass windows from the original church building. They were restored and mounted on the wall with a backlight to display the subtle glass colors.
The Narthex
This is the area just outside the Sanctuary. It is a good place to meet friends and chat before going in to worship.
The Sanctuary
A large space for worshipping the Lord, sometimes decorated according to the season.
The "Cry Room"
A pleasant space where mom or dad can take a youngster who is "praising the Lord" and still hear and see the worship service. Sound is piped in and there are comfortable chairs for soothing your child and seeing the service through the large windows.
Fellowship Hall
As the name suggests, many fellowship events take place here. From coffee and cookies before worship to potlucks and formal dinners during the year, this is the gathering place for our church family.
The Choir Room
A well equipped rehearsal and meeting place for our talented choir plus storage for our music library. We welcome new singers, experienced or not.
Adult Classroom and Meeting Space.
A bright room that serves as our adult bible study classroom and also provides a meeting space for several church committees.
Kitchen
Our fully equipped kitchen has been the starting point for many a fine meal! If you scratch the surface of a Presbyterian, you're likely to find a good cook underneath!
The Nursery
A bright, pleasant space where mom or dad can leave a youngster for child care during the worship service. Our Nursery Coordinator, Kerith Hintz, is a teacher by profession, and a godly woman by nature.
The "Sunshine Room"
So named because of the wall of windows which illuminates this cozy room. Our religious lending library is also kept here.
The South Entrance
This entrance provides a shorter path to the sanctuary if your mobility is impaired. The circular drive runs within thirty feet of the door.
Large Stained Glass Window in Chancel
It incorporates designs that evoke many images; free flowing shapes like the hills and rolling fields that surround the church, a suggestion of a rosebud reminding us of Jesus being called, "Rose of Sharon", the Presbyterian flame, shapes moving upward from earth to Heaven...perhaps arms upstretched toward Heaven. As in all good art, everybody sees something different.
Chancel Area
The area at the front of the sanctuary. Usually the focal point of the worship service.
Four Year Old to Kindergarten Classroom
Our youngsters are first exposed to simple bible lessons here.
Rock, Paper, Scissors Classroom
An art studio with a full selection of craft materials.
Rock Theater Classroom
An audio visual workshop for showing professionally produced biblical lessons.
Prairie Pathways Classroom
Bible skills are developed here.
Prairie Playhouse Classroom
A workshop for bringing bible lessons to life through creating dramatic presentations in a stimulating, fun, hands-on environment.
Youth Room
A well equipped room for teens to learn about Presbyterianism and also enjoy each other's company.
